/ About the project

Marshmello stands as one of the most recognizable names in global electronic music, building a career defined by crossover appeal, cultural reach, and a visual identity that has become iconic in its own right. With Lights On featuring FAANGS, released through Joytime Collective in 2024, Marshmello introduced a deliberately different tone, stepping into a darker and more visceral creative space that signaled an intentional shift in direction. The release called for a visual approach that could honor that evolution while standing apart from the broader landscape of electronic music content.

We were brought in to lead the full creative execution of Lights On, with Brandon Densley and Spenser Williams directing and producing the music video, and Brandon Densley serving as Director of Photography. Our team conceptualized and executed a raw, high contrast visual world built around an edgy warehouse environment, shot in 4:3 black and white to give the video a cinematic and timeless quality that matched the weight of the record. Every creative decision was made in service of the tone, ensuring the final result felt intentional and fully realized. Lights On went on to amass over 15 million streams across all DSPs, with the visual identity playing a central role in shaping the perception and reach of the release.
