/ About the project
Legacy electronic duo Adventure Club sought a refreshed live show experience to support their Heroes & Villains Tour in late 2023. Following the success of their Calling All Heroes EP, the duo wanted to lean deeper into a thematic, story-driven performance — something that would evoke nostalgia for long-time fans while introducing a bold new visual chapter. Adventure Club approached A World Away to create a more cohesive and immersive world for the tour, one that would feel cinematic, emotional, and larger-than-life.
A World Away worked closely with Adventure Club to build a full visual narrative centered around two futuristic superheroes, designed as symbolic extensions of the duo’s sound and ethos. Through custom-built visuals, the story followed these heroes as they traveled through portals across time — from medieval battlegrounds to dystopian, abandoned cities — building a sense of adventure and transformation with every beat drop. We handled live show visuals, laser design, and overall creative direction, ensuring a seamless integration between sound, story, and light. The show was first activated during a two-night, sold-out debut in San Francisco, where the new experience immediately resonated with fans and set the tone for the rest of the Heroes & Villains Tour. The result was an unforgettable, cinematic performance that redefined Adventure Club’s live identity and raised the bar for narrative-driven electronic shows.
